A Brief Introduction to my hometown

Pinghe in English loosely means mild, peaceable, placid, dreamy and gentle. The country named Pinghe is my hometown which is located in Zhangzhou City which is called Fujian Golden Triangle in the southwest of Fujian Province.

Pinghe is one of the four key countries in the old liberated areas in Fujian, which is adjacent to the Xiamen Special Economic Zone and Shantou Special Economic Zone. It has an area of 2328.6 square kilometers, with a total population of 578,348 people (in 2010), jurisdiction over 15 towns.

Its main rivers are Huashan (flower mountain) River, Lu River, Jiufeng River. There are provincially cultural relics protection units for Pinghe explosion site. We speak of Minnan dialect.

Tourism: Lingtong (well-informed) Rock, Temple of Sanping, Jiufeng Town, Hou Shan Palace.

Specialties: Pinghe Guanxi honey pomelo, Nansheng Ma dates, Pinghe bananas, white buds Chelan tea, Xiaoxi pillow cake.

Pinghe is Lin Yutang’s hometown as well. Lin Yutang is a Chinese writer and philosopher and translator and poet. Above is a brief introduction to my honetown. I love my hometown. Welcome everybody to visit it.

平和的英语意思大致有性情温和、不偏激、平正谐和、调和等。平和县，我的家乡，地处福建省闽南金三角的漳州市西南部，福建省四个老区重点县之一，毗邻厦门经济特区、汕头经济特区。全境面积2328.6平方公里，总人口578348人（2010），辖15个乡镇（场）。通行闽南方言。

主要河流有花山溪，芦溪、九峰溪。有省级文物保护单位平和爆动遗址。有唐建古刹三平寺、芦溪镇圆型土楼。

旅游：灵通岩、三平寺景区、九峰镇、侯山宫

特产：平和琯溪蜜柚、南胜麻枣、平和香蕉、白芽奇兰茶叶、小溪枕头饼
