After a slumber steeped in melancholic dreams, the private courtyard comes into focus, now basking in the warm glow of the setting sun.

《踏莎行·小径红稀》由晏殊创作，被选入《宋词三百首》。这是一首写暮春闲愁的作品，上阕写暮春景色，蕴含淡淡的闲愁，将大自然春之气息表现的淋漓尽致，下阕进一步对愁怨作铺垫。全词以写景为主，以意象的清晰、主旨的朦胧而显示其深美而含蓄的魅力。调名从唐韩翃诗句“踏莎行草过春溪”而来。双调，五十八字，十句，上下片各五句三仄韵。起首四个四言句，前人多用对偶。另有《转调踏莎行》，六十六字，上下片各四仄韵，是别格。
