Crosstalk, a traditional form of comic storytelling, is making a comeback in China’s tea
houses and theaters.
Audience can laugh the night away every Saturday at the Qianxiangyi Teahouse in Tianjin, entertained by the apprentices(徒弟) of Hou Baolin, Ma Sanli or Yin Shoushan – all leading crosstalk artists of years past—for only 20 yuan.
The success in Tianjin has also caused the rejuvenation(复活) of crosstalk in Beijing and other places.
Although the art form originated in Beijing in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Tianjin became a place where rising stars formed their styles and new pieces were tried out. The city was well-known nationwide for the quality of its crosstalk performances.
Known in Chinese as xiangsheng (literally, “face and voice”), crosstalk was the chief form of comedy throughout most of the 20 century. In the old days in Tianjin and elsewhere, temple fairs and markets were the main places for crosstalkers to perform, although they occasionally also appeared in teahouses or theaters.
Crosstalk pieces draw on every aspect of Chinese culture, from history and folk tales to social issues of the time. Although there’re hundreds of traditional pieces, they are constantly rewritten to suit the times and the audience, while new works are written as well. It’s one of the features that have made crosstalk a public art form throughout its history.
“Crosstalk was in the doldrums(萎靡不振) with competition from other art forms, especially TV,” said Wang Xiaochun, headmaster of the Northern Storytelling Art School of China( NSAS) . “But it has regained its status with crosstalk fans, especially young people, growing aware(意识到) of its rare qualities.”
“More and more students are coming to NSAS to study crosstalk, including some girl students,” said Wang. “They are sure that crosstalk will have a strong market.” 24. From the text, we can know___________. A. crosstalk first arose in Tianjin

阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
At present, traffic jam has become a major problem which most city dwellers, especially those who live in big cities have to confront(面临) in their everyday lives.
Why is traffic jam a problem? At first, owing to the fact that the vehicles keep giving off harmful gases during traffic jams, air pollution and furthermore, global warming will deteriorate(变坏). In addition, traffic jams will affect the effectiveness of work, because the people have to spend much more time on way to office than necessary, and their work will be distracted or delayed. Apart from this, traffic jam might give rise to more traffic accidents and therefore becomes a menace (威胁)to people’ lives.
So harmful traffic jam is, the number of private cars still goes up apace. Why? Personally I think, the first reason may be the remoteness of people’s workplace. As a result, people have to choose a tool other than walk to go to work. Being flexible and relatively convenient, private car becomes a very attractive choice .Moreover, owning a private car, especially in some developing countries, is itself a symbol of wealth and high social position. In some developed countries such as USA it is also the symbol of independence and maturity. Anyway, owning and driving private cars are regarded by many people as basic human rights. Undoubtedly, traffic jam must be, and can be alleviated (减轻)by correct means .In my view, spending more money on public transportation systems may be a feasible means .Needless to say, policies which encourage people to put these systems to full use, for example, giving certain subsidies, are necessary. In the meantime, measures to restrict the use of private cars, such as levying higher taxes on cars or petrol, its fuel, or exerting more restrictions on the distribution of certificate, should be taken.
