摘要： Production confined plasmas (31) at high temperatures and retention thereofin a stable state, especially of such plasmas that are created by ionisation of a volume(30) of a hydrogen gas, such as deuterium. The temperature of the plasma (31) isincreased by at least a magnitude of order as those obtainable by a process similar todate. This increase is achieved by increasing the static pressure of the ambient fluidmedium (20) wherein the plasma fleet (or reducing the frequency of supply of radiantenergy (50)) while increasing power supply radiant energy (50) to offset the increasedconcomitant energy losses to increase the plasma temperature. The operability of theinvention is produced by a new optimization of the relationship between the mainphysical parameters that characterize the preferred embodiments of the invention.
