摘要：An IC card which operates at either an operation mode or a power save mode,the processing in the operation mode being carried but in accordance with a commandsignal inputted from a predetermined external equipment, and the power save modebeing capable of terminating its operations and returning to the operation mode uponreception of a predetermined release signal, the IC card including an informationprocessing circuit provided in the IC card and a release signal generating circuit foroutputting, the release signal to the information processing circuit within the IC circuit atthe time when the command signal from the external equipment is received, wherein theinformation processing circuit executes the process corresponding to the commandsignal received from the external equipment during the operation mode, and thereaftercauses the IC card to move to the power save mode. A portable terminal for allowing thepower save mode operation of the IC card which includes a clock signal generating circuitcapable of generating a clock signal having a lower frequency than the rated clockfrequency of the IC card; and an interface capable of data, transfer relative to the IC cardat the data transmission rate in proportion to a ratio of the lower frequency of the clocksignal generated by the clock signal generating circuit to the rated clock signalfrequency.
