端午英语作文(一)
The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is the Dragon Boat Festival, atraditional festival commemorated by the ancient patriotic poet qu yuan.
On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, mother got up early, took out duckeggs and zongzi, and boiled them in a pot. I stood on the edge of the kitchentable and watched the ducks and eggs in the pot. 端午节是为了纪念投汩罗江而死的爱国诗人屈原。赛龙舟不为了捞救屈原。把粽子投进江里，是为让鱼蛟虾蟹吃饱了，不再去吃屈原的遗体。经过很长时间的演变，往江里投粽子渐渐变成了农历五月初五这天吃粽子。
端午又称重五，所以许多习俗和“五”这个数字联系在一起。用红、黄、蓝、白、黑五色丝红系在儿童的脖颈、手腕或足踝上，称长命缕。各家要插“五端”：菖蒲、艾草、石榴花、蒜头、龙船花。南方过端午节时，要吃“五黄”：黄鱼、黄瓜、咸鸭、蛋黄、黄豆瓣包的粽子，喝雄黄酒。
